  Now our go-to car for longer trips

  Took the Curvv EV on a Surat-Vadodara run and came away impressed with how it handled highway duty. The claimed 502km range translates to a genuinely usable real-world figure of around 370-380km with AC on, more than enough for the trip without range anxiety. Cabin comfort held up well over the drive, and the 500-litre boot handled our bags easily. Charging infrastructure along the route made the one top-up stop quick and painless. For an EV in this segment, this has genuinely become our go-to car for longer trips, not just city duty.

  Competent and composed, not genuinely thrilling

  The Curvv EV is a well-rounded, competent EV, good rather than genuinely thrilling to drive. 165bhp moves it along nicely around Mumbai's traffic, and the styling is undeniably the best-looking Tata EV yet. Handling is composed but doesn't feel particularly involving compared to more focused performance EVs. Real-world range around 360km with AC on has been solid for my needs. Fit and finish on some interior trim pieces feels a notch below what the exterior design promises. Does everything well, I just wouldn't call it exciting in the way the styling suggests it should be.

  Handled a highway road trip with real confidence

  Did an Indore-Bhopal round trip on the Curvv EV and it handled the distance impressively. Real-world range with AC running settled around 380-390km, giving genuine confidence for the trip without needing a mid-way charging stop. The DC fast charger topped up 10-80% in about 40 minutes on my one stop along the way. Boot space easily took our luggage, and the cabin stayed comfortable over the multi-hour drive. Ride does get firm over rougher highway patches, but overall this is genuinely one of the more road-trip-capable EVs in this price range.

  Coupe roofline is a real dealbreaker for tall passengers

  Bought the Curvv EV mainly for the safety rating and boot space, but the coupe roofline is a genuine dealbreaker for our family. Rear headroom is noticeably tight for my father, who's over 5'10, especially on longer drives around Kolkata. The 500-litre boot and 6 airbags are genuinely good, and range hasn't been an issue at around 370km real-world. But the sloping roofline that gives the car its styling completely compromises rear-seat comfort for taller passengers. If you have tall family members who'll regularly sit in the back, I'd genuinely recommend test-driving with them before buying.
