Competent daily car, not one for enthusiasts
The Tigor petrol AMT is a competent, sensible car, just not a particularly exciting one to drive. Performance is adequate around Chennai's city roads but there's no real urgency to the engine, and the AMT further softens whatever eagerness the 1.2L has. The touchscreen and wireless Android Auto on my XZ Plus trim are genuinely good for the price, and build quality feels solid enough. Mileage of around 17kmpl in mixed driving is fair. It does what's asked of it reliably, I just wouldn't call it a car for anyone who actually enjoys driving.

Underpowered and short on driving excitement for the price
Bought the XZ Plus petrol manual expecting a bit more fun to go with the styling, and it's been underwhelming. 84bhp just isn't enough, the car feels genuinely underpowered the moment you switch the AC on, which in Bengaluru's heat is basically always. There's no sunroof, no cruise control and no ADAS at any price point, so the top trim doesn't feel meaningfully sportier than the base beyond the touchscreen and LED lights. The 10-inch touchscreen and wireless Android Auto are nice, at least. Handling is fine around town but there's nothing engaging about actually driving it. For the price, I expected a bit more character.

Handles highway duty better than expected
The Tigor petrol AMT has done a few Indore-Bhopal runs for me and handles highway duty better than I expected for a car this size. Cruising at 100kmph is stable, and the 35-litre tank combined with real-world mileage of around 17-18kmpl gives a reasonable range between fills. The AMT shifts smoothly enough on the highway, it's only in stop-go traffic that it feels hesitant. Seats stay comfortable over a 3-hour stretch, and the boot easily took our luggage for a weekend trip. No cruise control is the one thing I genuinely miss on these longer drives.

CNG range makes this a genuinely practical highway car
Did a Surat to Ahmedabad round trip on CNG in the AMT and came away impressed with the range. Getting close to 200km out of a full CNG fill plus the reserve petrol tank means I barely worried about running dry on the highway. The AMT is smooth enough at highway speeds once you're past the initial shift hesitation in traffic. Boot space handled our bags without needing to dip into the back seat. Road noise creeps in past 90kmph, and there's no cruise control to lean on for long stretches, which gets tiring on a 4-hour drive. Still, the running cost makes this a genuinely practical highway car.
