The Skoda Slavia is a compact sedan priced from roughly ₹10 lakh to ₹18.29 lakh ex-showroom across 10 variants, offered with a 114bhp 1.0L turbo-petrol or a quicker 148bhp 1.5L turbo-petrol paired with a 7-speed DCT. It spans five trims from Classic to the sporty Monte Carlo.
It stands out with a segment-leading 521-litre boot, 6 airbags standard, a 5-star Global NCAP rating and a 4-year/100,000km warranty. The top Monte Carlo trim adds an electric sunroof, cruise control and an 8-inch touchscreen, though there's no ADAS on any variant, and the punchier 1.5L DCT engine is reserved for the pricier Prestige and Monte Carlo trims.

The Slavia is a solid daily commuter with strong safety credentials, a peppy turbo-petrol engine, and decent efficiency, though it lacks cruise control and automatic climate control for extra convenience.
Slavia's turbo-petrol engine, manual gearbox and sorted chassis give enthusiasts genuine driving engagement, though it lacks premium tech toys some enthusiasts crave.
The Slavia offers strong safety credentials and a spacious boot, making it a solid, dependable choice for families, though it misses some convenience features like keyless entry and cruise control.
The Slavia is a solid long-distance companion, offering strong highway efficiency, a peppy turbo engine, and top-tier safety, though it lacks cruise control and some comfort touches expected on long hauls.
The Slavia has worked reasonably well for our family around Mumbai, though a few things have tempered my enthusiasm. AC cooling isn't quite as strong as I'd expect for Mumbai's humidity, especially with all seats occupied. We've also had a minor dashboard rattle appear over rough patches, resolved once at service but it's something to watch. Boot space and safety features are genuinely excellent for family use though, and the automatic gearbox is smooth in traffic. Cabin comfort is good for shorter trips. A solid family sedan, just not entirely trouble-free.
Did a Jaipur-Udaipur trip in the Slavia 1.5 DCT and it handled the distance impressively. 250Nm of torque makes overtaking effortless, and the DCT holds gears smartly on inclines. Highway mileage settled around 17-18kmpl, genuinely good for this engine. Cabin stayed comfortable and quiet over the 6-hour drive, and the 521-litre boot easily took our luggage. No cruise control on this trim was the one thing I missed on the flatter stretches. Overall, a genuinely capable highway cruiser with real European road manners.
Took the Slavia 1.0 TSI manual on a Delhi-Jaipur trip in peak summer and ran into a genuine concern: the engine seemed to lose power and misfire slightly under load in the heat, something I've since read other owners have also reported. It resolved itself once things cooled down, but it was unsettling on a highway overtake. No cruise control on this trim made the drive more tiring than it needed to be. The car is otherwise comfortable, and the boot handled our luggage fine, but the heat-related engine issue has genuinely dented my confidence in taking it on longer summer trips.
The Slavia Sportline manual has been a genuinely fun car to drive around Bengaluru. The 1.0 TSI's turbo lag is minimal and there's real mid-range pull once boost builds. Manual gear changes feel precise and well-weighted. Handling is composed and confidence-inspiring through corners. Sportline styling with the black accents looks properly sporty without being over the top. Cabin quality feels a step above rivals in this segment. 5-star Global NCAP and 6 airbags round out a package that genuinely rewards enthusiastic driving. Very happy with this choice.
