Vibration issue and no cruise control on a long trip
Took the Nexon petrol manual on a Delhi-Jaipur trip and came away with real reservations. Noticeable vibration in first gear and reverse, something I'd read about in other owner reviews but hoped wouldn't apply to mine, has been present since day one. No cruise control on this trim made the highway stretch genuinely tiring. Mileage on the trip settled around 13-14kmpl, below what I'd hoped for a claimed-efficient turbo-petrol. The car is otherwise comfortable and the boot handled our luggage fine, but between the vibration issue and patchy service centre response so far, I'm not as confident in this car as I'd hoped to be.

Safety package makes this a confident family choice
Picked the Nexon diesel AMT for family use and the safety package was the deciding factor. 6 airbags and the 5-star Bharat NCAP rating gave us real confidence carrying the kids around Chennai. Diesel mileage has been genuinely good, close to 20kmpl in mixed driving against the claimed 24.08kmpl. 321-litre boot handles our weekend luggage without a squeeze. AMT is smooth enough for city use though it hesitates slightly from a standstill. Ride comfort is good for the kids on shorter trips. Overall, a genuinely safe and practical family SUV that's held up well so far.

Practical and safe, solid family SUV
The Nexon petrol AMT has worked out well for our family of four around Hyderabad. Boot space easily fits our stroller and groceries together, and the cabin feels comfortable for shorter family trips. 6 airbags standard gave us peace of mind over some rivals we considered. Ground clearance handles our society's speed breakers without scraping. Mileage sits around 14kmpl in city traffic, reasonable for daily use. AMT shifts are adequate, not the smoothest but acceptable. Build quality feels solid for the price bracket. Genuinely satisfied with this as a practical, safe family SUV.

Genuinely capable highway companion for the price
Did a Jaipur-Udaipur trip in the Nexon diesel manual and it handled the distance well. 260Nm of torque low down means minimal downshifting on inclines, and the 44-litre tank combined with a real-world 20-21kmpl gave a genuinely useful range between fuel stops. Cabin stayed comfortable over the 5-hour drive, and the boot easily took our luggage. 208mm ground clearance handled a few rougher patches without any scraping. Road noise creeps in past 100kmph, and I did miss cruise control on the flatter stretches. Overall though, a genuinely capable highway companion for the price.
