The Tata Curvv is a coupe-styled SUV that trades a conventional boxy silhouette for a sloping roofline, LED lighting and a distinct fastback profile, while staying priced between roughly ₹10 lakh and ₹19 lakh ex-showroom. It's offered with a 118 bhp 1.2L turbo-petrol or a 116 bhp 1.5L turbo-diesel engine, each available with a manual or automatic gearbox, across eight trim levels from Smart to Accomplished Plus A.
Practicality isn't sacrificed for style: a 500-litre boot, 5-seat cabin and a 208mm ground clearance make it usable day to day, while the top trim adds a 12.3-inch touchscreen, panoramic sunroof, Level 2 ADAS and a 360-degree camera. Every variant gets a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating with 6 airbags as standard, backed by Tata's 3-year/100,000 km warranty.

Curvv Petrol offers strong safety and a comfy ride for daily driving, but this base trim skips key convenience tech like touchscreen and cruise control that ease everyday commutes.
The Curvv petrol brings genuine turbo-punch and manual engagement enthusiasts crave, but the base variant strips out the tech and creature comforts that would make it a fully satisfying package.
Curvv is a safety-strong, spacious coupe-SUV base variant, but this trim skips key family comforts like touchscreen infotainment and rear AC vents.
The Curvv petrol offers strong safety and a large 500L boot for highway trips, but lacks cruise control and infotainment, limiting long-drive convenience.
Did a Kochi to Munnar round trip in the Curvv diesel automatic and it handled the ghat sections better than I expected for a car this size. 260Nm of torque low down means you rarely need to downshift manually on inclines, and the automatic gearbox is smooth enough not to interrupt the drive. Mileage settled around 17.5kmpl for the trip, mixing hill climbs with highway stretches, which felt honest given the terrain. The seats stayed comfortable over a 5-hour stretch, and the boot easily took our luggage plus a cooler. Cabin does pick up some tyre noise on rougher ghat tarmac, but overall this has become our default hill-station car.
The Accomplished S petrol automatic is the most complete Curvv for someone who actually enjoys driving. Performance from the 1.2L turbo is peppy around Mumbai's flyovers, and the automatic gearbox is smooth in traffic, which the manual isn't always. ADAS features like lane keep assist genuinely help on the expressway during monsoon downpours when visibility drops. The panoramic sunroof and ambient lighting make the cabin feel special, not just practical. Ride quality is firm at low speed over broken roads but settles down nicely once you're moving. Service centre in Andheri has been prompt with the two visits I've had so far.
Bought the Creative diesel manual mainly for my parents' comfort on trips and it's been a mixed experience. My father is 5'11 and genuinely struggles with rear headroom because of the sloping roofline, the one thing I wish I'd checked more carefully before buying. The infotainment has frozen completely twice, once mid-navigation on the highway, and needed a factory reset at the service centre to fix. Ride is firm over Delhi's broken colony roads at low speed, which isn't great for elderly passengers. On the plus side, the diesel engine itself is strong and mileage is close to the claimed 19kmpl. For a family car though, test drive with your tallest passenger in the back seat first.
Driving the Curvv petrol manual around Ahmedabad for the last year, and it's been a low-drama daily. The 1.2L turbo has enough pep for merging onto SG Highway without flooring it, and I'm averaging close to 17kmpl in mixed city use, matching Tata's claim reasonably well. The 208mm ground clearance handles our speed breakers and slightly uneven approach roads without scraping. Hill hold is handy at the flyover near my office. Cabin insulation is decent for the segment, road noise creeps in only past 80kmph. Only real annoyance is the lack of a rear wiper on my trim, which shows during monsoon season.
