  Careful planning makes longer trips work without drama

  Did a Surat-Vadodara round trip on the Creative Plus 24kWh and with careful planning it worked out fine. Charged to 100% before leaving and used the DC fast charger at a highway stop for a 35-minute top-up on the way back. Cruise control on this trim made the flat highway stretches genuinely comfortable. Real-world range with AC on settled around 175-185km rather than the claimed 215km, so I planned the charging stop in advance rather than pushing it. Boot easily took our overnight bags. It takes more planning than a petrol car, but it worked without any drama.

  Took the Tiago EV on a Jaipur-Ajmer trip and it highlighted exactly where a short-range EV struggles on longer drives. Real-world range with AC running through Rajasthan's heat came in closer to 160km against the claimed 215km, which meant an unplanned charging stop that ate into the trip time. No cruise control on my Pure Plus trim made the highway stretch more tiring than it needed to be. Cabin stayed comfortable through the drive at least, and charging itself was quick once I found a working DC point. Fine for occasional longer trips with planning, not something I'd want to do often.

  Competent city car, not one for driving excitement

  The Tiago EV Smart is a competent little city car, not really one for anyone who wants a fun drive. 60bhp and 110Nm move it along fine in traffic but there's no real excitement to the acceleration. Regen braking is smooth and the instant torque off the line is satisfying in short bursts at least. No touchscreen, no Bluetooth, nothing modern about the cabin on this trim. Build quality feels solid enough for the price. It does the commuting job reliably, I just wouldn't call it engaging in any way.

  Underpowered with real range anxiety in city traffic

  Expected a bit more character from an EV and the Tiago Pure Plus has been a letdown on that front. 60bhp genuinely isn't enough once you're carrying passengers or fighting Delhi's stop-go traffic, and there's zero drama to how it drives. No cruise control anywhere on this trim, no touchscreen either, just the bare essentials. Regenerative braking is the one genuinely satisfying part of the experience. Real-world range with AC on through Delhi summer traffic drops to around 120-130km, well under the claimed figure, which adds range anxiety to an already unexciting drive. Not the EV I was hoping for.
